Just a site for some crazy little things, but we do like.
Kenzo S/S 2013
Let start with the last chapter of PFW S/S 13, I was stunned to the stage presentation of Kenzo S/S 13, Humberto Leon & Carol Lim brought edgy to the house which it is actually been in the house since Takada Kenzo. The collection was up to date and catchy. It might not reflect much to the design wise but it really drive the Kenzo’s clad to the Digital Jungle which was inspired after their trip to Thailand ^^. The way they merchandised the items were really cohesive and inspiring not including the brilliant give-away cookie that they collaborated with Momofuku as an IT bag for the whole day. What a fantastic souvenir back home after long trip. Marketing stunts are relly importat indeed and they did great.
Saint Laurent S/S 2013
I am a little nervous to write anything about Saint Laurent after the dramatic conflict of Hedi VS Cathy !! Moreover, I write from what I’ve seen on the internet source only! Anyway, I am Hedi’s fan and love what he did to Saint Laurent. It might be precedented to Yves Saint Laurent’s archive and essence. The fashion critic might be looking for a very new design term from Hedi but the entreprenuer must be overwhelmed with the result of the collection, according to WWD. I also think that who ever love YSL and Hedi’s work since Dior Homme will be happy and fulfill the kloset well. The collection is dark romantic, refine and luxury. Even though, the western cowboy-ish essence was around and some shots reminded me of Rachel Zoe which is a little bit off but , ultimately, this collection will be confortable to wear ( It was proven by Lady Gaga later week )
Haider Ackermann S/S 2013
Personally, Haider Ackermann S/S 13 was my first runner up for Paris Fashion Week , number 1 is Riccardo Tisci’s Givenchy. I like drama. Haider gave me all the elements from design, styling, presentation thru show’s music. The collection seem monotone but gently layering with many prints and various kind of fabric. It was not bold but really reflected brand’s personality. Asian ethnic still dominated, the silhouette was architectural crafte. Straight line perfectily combined with subtle silk. Haider’s community is growing from analog to digital digit.
Louis Vuitton S/S 2013
Miu Miu S/S 2013
Even though, Louis Vuitton did impressive presentation and elegantly craftmanship on simple but gimmicky design. I still need more from LV than a copy version of Marc Jacobs’ collection, from stripe to chess Damier. Miu Miu gave an artistic illusion of women’s sexiness in different world, sometime retro but sometime futuristic. It definitely look more mature and luxury than Prada. Miu Miu’s clad is really artistic and has personal touch with the brand. It is strategically successful to move Miu Miu out from Milan. It really show off season after season.
Comme des Garcons S/S 2013
Valentino S/S 2013
Maison Martin Margiela S/S 2013
John Galliano S/S 2013
Jean Paul Gaultier S/S 2013
End of the fashion week with some houses that we all know what they are going to do. So, no expectation require. Bill Gaytten brought John Galliano’s collection out to somewhere new but still showing his talent in tailor. We might see something fun very soon after he has time to develop his own stamp in the house. I love the feminity of Maison Martin Margiela. See you next A/W 2013-14
