New business model from Mr. Renzo Rosso



After I was acknowleged the news about the return of Viktor & Rolf to Paris Haute Couture schedule, I was realized, recently, we have heard so many news from “Only the brave”of Mr. Renzo Rosso owner of Diesel, MMM , Viktor & Rolf, Marni, etc.




Latest, we have been informed about the new appointment of Mr. Nicola Formicetti as Artistic Director to Diesel. Not only that, Mr. Rosso made big news to the industry by acquired a majority stake of Marni to his portfolio, a collaboration of MMM + H&M had stunned the entire fashion consumer, Maison Martin Margiela showed the Couture collecions, etc. He made fashion industry seem excited again.

However, what I have been thinking is about the business model that Mr. Rosso is planning. PPR is strategically shifting up their game by changing its name to Kering and visualize the company focus to specialized in Sport and Luxury merchandizing, since some investor have unclear vision of PPR’s segment in “industrial group”. What about Mr. Rosso, whom debuts on this year’s list of the world’s billionaires with an estimated net worth of $3 billion by changing a position from jean specialist to full portfolio of lifestyle. However, when you carry many brands in your hands, how could you treat them grow well in own segment. It is really a fun game for business man who has guts and luck. I am watching him closely to see whether his move to differentiate general design houses to the frontal area of luxury player and diversify his portfolio to obtain more consumer in every levels will success or not. We will watch and learn from Mr. Renzo Rosso.
